A City Hall elopement in Copenhagen — beyond the ceremony, across the city
Karen and Thomas chose to keep things simple — a City Hall ceremony, just the two of them, on a dark autumn Saturday in Copenhagen.
But like many days like this, it didn’t stay contained for long.
After the ceremony, they stepped back out into the city and let the day unfold naturally — moving through the streets, finding small pockets of quiet, and eventually continuing on to the park to share their vows away from everything else.
If you’re planning something similar, you can get in touch here.
What often happens on days like this is that the ceremony becomes just one part of something larger.
There’s the movement through the city — walking without a set direction, pausing when something feels right, letting the pace slow down. Time to take it in, to be present, without needing to rush.
For Karen and Thomas, that movement eventually led them to the park, where they found a quieter space to share their vows together.
If you’re planning something similar, you’re very welcome to get in touch.
For many couples, the photographs end up becoming a way of remembering not just the ceremony, but the feeling of the whole day — being in the city together, the movement between places, and the quieter moments in between.
When the day is given a little more space, it tends to settle into something more personal, more relaxed, and more reflective of how it actually felt to be there.
If this feels like the kind of day you’re imagining, I’d love to hear your plans.
