A relaxed outdoor family photoshoot by the sea during golden hour
As a Copenhagen family photographer, I’m always drawn to the kind of sessions that unfold gently and without rush — where there’s space for connection, play, and quiet moments in between. This outdoor family photoshoot took place on Hove Beach during late spring, just as golden hour began to soften the sky. It was one of those evenings where everything came together beautifully: soft light, a calm sea breeze, and that unique rhythm that families with babies often move in — tender, intuitive, and unhurried.
This session features a little one at five months old — a truly lovely age for family photography. At this stage, babies are beginning to engage with the world around them with bright eyes and expressive faces, while still holding on to that gentle softness of early infancy. It’s a fleeting in-between — no longer a newborn, but not quite sitting up — and it brings with it a calm, intimate energy that translates so well in photos.
The connection between these three was quietly beautiful. There was an ease to the way they moved together: a shared gaze, a soft laugh, a slow walk along the shoreline with the baby tucked close. No props or posing — just the honest beauty of a new family making space for one another by the sea. A place they hold close to them. Part of their new daily routine.
These are the kinds of images that feel timeless now, and will only grow more meaningful with time.
Though I’m primarily based in Denmark, offering family photography in Copenhagen, I do occasionally open up limited dates for sessions in London and the surrounding areas.
